OWL (formerly WLOE) - September 2010
OWL is an energetic training that will cover almost everything you need
to know to plan and run a WEBELOS program. Instructors will help you
learn how to set up camp, cook, learn about ropes and knots, first aid,
planning campfire programs, maps and compass skills, hiking techniques,
nature identification, and Leave No Trace. This outdoor session will
bring to life the pages of the Outdoor Activity Pins in the WEBELOS
handbook to help you deliver the promise of Scouting to yourself and
the youth you serve. It will increase your comfort level and give you
confidence as a trained, skilled leader. The program will also give you
the opportunity to work with other Scout leaders, meet new friends, and
reinforce skill techniques with fellow unit leaders. It includes the
WEBELOS to Scout transition plan. In short, everything you need to know
to make your WEBELOS program a success! Bring your favorite songs,
skits & musical instruments for the campfire program. And don't
forget,
attendance in this course is one of the requirements for the Webelos Den Leader Award. For more information visit
